Hi
I have found a Beatrice A Rudd on the Uk incoming passenger lists for 1904
Name: Beatrice A Rudd
Birth: abt 1878
Departure: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Arrival: 10 Aug 1904 - Liverpool, England
I think she may daughter of Alfred J & Elizabeth Rudd
iIthink there is a record of her going out to USA but as I don't have full access I can't see it, so don't know when it was or who she may have gone with
Also if she was out there for a few years, would she be on any census in USA?
Thanks

Re being in a census. If she was a resident in the US at the time of a census she should have been recorded.

You would think so wouldn't you, but the only Beatrice A Rudd I can find in the 1900 census is born 1874, only a little out but the name is specific Beatrice A Rudd with the middle initial, but she is the wife of a William W Rudd, who are living in New York. Beatrice's place of birth is given as New York, also the column for her mother's birthplace states the same, although her father's states England.
William's occupation is a Boarding and Livery Stable Proprietor and his mother Jenny W is living with themin Putnam Avenue, Brooklyn.

Can you tell me the name of the database you saw this entry on and I'll see if I can get the information?

The only one anywhere near the age in the 1910 census is born 1872, of black race and born Virginia.

The reason I asked is that I clicked the link for Irish Immigrants : New York Port database (under the heading of Immigration) and got the message that it was no longer available

Ooh Mary thanks that's them
wonder why they were there
No sign of dad Alfred ?
why the Irish immigrant database though.. they had nothing to do with Ireland
On that Irish Immigrant one are a couple of Brooker's I am not sure are mine as as well
Charlotte b 1805 and Charlotte born 1831 arrived 14/5/1850
don't get any of this.
I've been researching over 10 years and have only just found out that they were flitting back and forth to USA

Forget I mentioned the Irish Emigrants database, that was the one that wasn't available. The above information was from the New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957

RE:

It is possible the Arizona sailed from Liverpool but made a pick-up call to an Irish port such as Queenstown (Cobh, Co Cork) to take on board Irish emigrants. That happened quite a lot. It is then possible that her entire passenger manifest would be included in the database as it would be quite difficult to pick out the 'non-Irish' aboard.

You can search the 1911 census index for yourself at
www.1911census.co.uk Using this I can find no Beatrice Rudd with a birth year +/-3 years of 1877 either living in Liverpool or with Liverpool or Lancashire as a birthplace.
I repeat - please FORGET I mentioned that database, I had just wondered if that was the one you saw an entry in, it isn't the one I FOUND the entry in.
