Hello there,
I thought i hade previously posted a message regarding this part of my KERSHAW tree. Obviously not when i checked.
Im looking to see where this family went after 1911, at which point they were living at 26 Carolina Street, Bootle.
Robert H Kershaw c1871
Frances Kershaw nee Chancellor c1878
Children are
Elizabeth Kershaw c1892
Robert Kershaw c1893
John Kershaw c1895
Martha Kershaw c1898
Selina Kershaw c1901
Franiess Kershaw 1904
Jennie Kershaw c1906
It would be great if anyone could trace them!?
Cheers
John
KERSHAW family in liverpool area
I suggest you look for marriages for the children. You could use www.lancashirebmd.org.uk for this.
You could also look for deaths on www.freebmd.org.uk
Have a look on Ancestry free at your local library for other mentions of the family. Matybe someone served in the First World War?
You could also look in directories to see if the family changed their address. Lancashire Record Office in preston have some Liverpool ones that would cover Bootle or you would have to go to Crosby Library or the temporary Liverpool Record Office at the World Museum Liverpool for more.

Hello John,
This might get you started. As Hilary suggested, FreeBMD can be most useful. But to get marriages and births after around 1945 you would need a sub to one of the genealogy sites because FreeBMD is still being transcribed. You should also check the 'validity' of marriages with a copy of the cert to confirm age and father's name and occupation.
Marriages Jun qtr 1926: Kershaw, Selina and Blanchard, Francis - W.Derby - 8b - 717.
Births Mar qtr 1927: Blanchard, Joyce - [Kershaw] - W.Derby - 8b - 831.
Just the one birth up to 1940.
There are a couple of Robert K marriages, but this is probably Jennie..
Marriages Dec qtr 1924: Kershaw, Jennie and Evans, John R - W.Derby - 8b - 703.
And some Evans nee Kershaw births. Can't all be to Jennie though, see 1926.
EVANS, Stanley - West Derby - 1924 - Jun qtr.
EVANS, Hilda - West Derby - 1926 - Mar qtr.
EVANS, John R - West Derby - 1926 - Dec qtr.
EVANS, Marjorie - West Derby - 1929 - Dec qtr.
EVANS, George - West Derby - 1932 - Mar qtr.
EVANS, Ronald - Crosby - 1935 - Sep qtr.
This would appear to be the father's death. The age is a match for his YoB. The death cert would confirm his occupation of stone mason and YoB. You would also get an address for the deceased and for whoever registered the death as well as their relationship.
Deaths Mar 1933: Kershaw, Robert H - 62 - W.Derby - 8b - 394.
And this looks like his wife:
Deaths Jun qtr 1949: Kershaw, Frances - 78 - Liverpool N. - 10d - 271. Cert needed.
Incidentally, you should send a transcription error report for Franiess Kershaw 1904. It is actually an error based on Franciss, a mis-spelling of Frances.
The only one in West Derby...
Marriages Jun 1932: Kershaw, Frances to Forsyth, Samuel - W. Derby - 8b - 553. Cert needed.
