Morning Tina, you've galloped along nicely there. I thought they may have married in Birkenhead but no -
James Rixon married Sarah A Willis at St Peter's Liverpool in 1875. GRO reference Q2 1875 8b 287.
It's possible that somebody may be able to do a look up for you at the Record Office but in case things are still difficult there, you can order the certificate using the GRO reference that I've given above at
www.gro.gov.uk
The details from the marriage certificate are essential to be sure of his father's name and occupation, however I suspect this to be the family in 1871

Difficult to know the marriage since it doesn't appear in Cheshire, there is a possible marriage in Liverpool in 1845. You will need Elizabeth's maiden name before you can search for the marriage. Unfortunately there are two births for a James Rixon in Cheshire approximately the right date, so it would be better to try for one of the other children. This is hopefully correct
John Rixon Q2 1846 Wirral 19 371
The
Cheshire Parish Register Project lists a baptism for a William Rixon on 31 July, 1822, in the parish of Bunbury, residence Alpraham - parents William (a labourer) and Martha. Also a John to the same parents on 21 June, 1819 and a Thomas on 23 November, 1817.
Possibly an earlier Anne in 1810, but not certain since only the father's name of William is given and there is another family living in the same area having children before this time, parents William and Mary.
Hopefully if I have your couple correct, the marriage was
6th November, 1809 William Rixon and Martha Craven
He was a bachelor, occupation Boatman, and made his mark
She was a spinster and made her mark, both resided in Bunbury,
Witnesses were James Bennett and Mary Jackson
There is also a burial for a Martha Rixon 27 January 1854, age 66, so she should be around in the censuses somewhere.
