Any experts around on a Mersey Docks and Harbour Board vessel named 'Denham' which may have been hit/sunk/affected in some way during WW2?
William Collins, a seaman from the Denham was buried at Allerton and his family headstone states he died 'as a result of enemy action' on 18 July 1946.
He is named in the War Graves Commission's Debt of Honour Register, but with no more details than that.
All clues welcome as always.

Denham SS [+1946]
casualties: ~8
date: 18-07-1946
† 8 Denham was a small survey vessel based in Liverpool which struck a mine and sank with
only 1 survivor. More details are given in Wrecks of Liverpool Bay vol II. Wreckage is
still visible at low water.

Thank you, Erika.
The mine explains a lot as I did not expect torpedoes or bombs at that date.
