Hi all... having found the date of burial, section, and grave number at Anfield cemetery is it possible now to view the other occupants of the grave (private) using the records office archives?

Hi Steve

You have to ring 233 3000 and ask for the burial order numbers for that grave number. Once you get these you can look them up in the Registers

Thanks, Katie... I have an email in to the cemeteries dept not answered yet asking for info - is this the phone number of the same people? If so I probably need to give them a little more time with the email (don't want to annoy anyone by seeming too pushy).

Good to know I can find out who's down there though!

Yes when you ring this number they put you through to the cemeteries office at Allerton.

Katie, am I missing something with these numbers? I was given four five digit numbers which I assumed correspond to the 'record number' in the first column of the burial register. But the names for these numbers are not what I'd expect and the grave numbers are different in each case.

Is there an intermediate step, ie I look up these numbers somewhere and cross reference them to the burial records? Or have the cemeteries dept given me duff info?

This is what I received from the cemetries office in case it gives you some clues. It's Anfield cemetery:

"Section CH 1 number 155 is a private grave owned by Phoebe Price, the internment order numbers are: 53787, 75910, 94298, 107502"

Thanks for your thoughts...

Hi Steve

Can you pop in the Museum on Tuesday?. You have to look in the burial order books which are seperate from the burial register. If you can make the help desk on Tuesday I will show you how to find the entries

That would be wonderful, Katie... what time are you there (and are you by the machines and whatnot)?
