I found this link:

http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/wml/ ... e/horology

in the latest 'Liverpool Family Historian' (Vol32, Sept 2010).

on entering one of my ancestors names (James BENNETT, Watchmaker of Liverpool C1808-1871), it came up with a list of entries (one of which was My Ancestor)!

I noted a few errors:

He was named as: James 'Forster' PENNETT/BENNETT, a Watchmaker, and although all the addresses & family Christian-names given were all correct.

James Forster BENNETTs wife is listed as 'Mary MURPHY'! on familysearch.org, they married on 26th May 1828 at St Nicholas, Liverpool

I found 'My' James & Family on the 1841, 1851, 1861 & 1871 Census Years ago.

In 1861 the listing is as Follows:

HO107/2693. Folio 26. Page 6

47 Gerard Street, Liverpool

James BENNETT, Head, Mar, 55Yrs old,Watchmaker, Bn Liverpool
Mary BENNETT, Wife , Mar, 52Yrs old, , Bn Ireland
Catherine BENNETT, Daut, 9Yrs old, Scholar , Bn Liverpool
Mary COLLINS, Mother in Law, Widow, 79Yrs old, , Bn Ireland

The above Mary COLLINS was married to a William COLLINS (found on 1841 Census in Duncan Street, Liverpool) an Accountant, Bn Ireland C1781).

My Query is Who (& How) do I contact to get the online record corrected?

Is it the Museum or the Gent who's name & email address is at the end of the Article? :?

I read that article with interest and wondered the same since there is an entry in a census I have that isn't online. It's rather ambiguous since the article didn't make it clear if the person who wrote it had anything to do with the database, although he was aware that it was a work in progress so I assume he is assisting.

I suspect that the Museum would be able to give you contact details, but why not email both places and ask.

I've left a link to the site on the Websites board, crediting you for posting, thank you, and if you get a response please update it.

I noticed the mention of this data in the latest edition and have just been looking at the details for my ancestor Edward Bellion. There are some mistakes but it's nice to see this information being made available.
