one and all, hope everyone is doing well?
I know been a wee while since was last here but lots of progress has been made with my family tree.
I've come across an address 12 Codrington St,West Derby, with 2 children being looked after by godparents having been born in Walton Workhouse, Walton, Lancs.
Is there anyway I can find out who their parents were please?

Hi Cazz,

Give us a clue! Any names and dates [and ages] when were the children at 12 Codrington Street? Depending on the date, the children could have been born in the infirmary attached to the workhouse. After 1837 their births would probably have been registered anyway... so give us a clue!

How do you know they are their godparents? If it is a Catholic family and they are indeed their godparents they will be listed as such in the baptism register of the Catholic church where they were christened.

The information is from the 1911 Census. Names Agnes Dean DOB 1899 & John Dean DOB 1904
The address, relationships are all on there. They're shown as being born Walton village Walton.
After contact with another family member I'm not sure they are from my family

The 1911 census index shows only one Agnes Dean of the right age living in the area.
I looked for Agnes Dean born 1899 in the 1901 census and there is only one
16 St Mary's Grove
John DEan 25
Elizabeth Dean 25
Catherine Dean 6 bn Walton
Agnes Ann Dean 2 bn Walton
In case they were a RC family I looked on the liverpoolhistoryprojects website and came up with this baptism Agnes Dean christened 1899 at Blessed Sacrament Church fatherr John Dean mother Elizabeth Sutton.
These possible parents may help to decide whether Agnes and her brother are your family.

Thank you dickiesam & Education Officer for your input. From the information you've found EO I can now see definitely not my family or rather not close family.
