Hi

I have posted a message on Rootschat requesting a lookup at Chester, hope that is ok with Carol :?

If Peggy is a child of about 6 maybe vicar has annotated it on the baptism.

we could do with a look at the 1852 marriage if we spot anyone going to Liverpool :D

I tagged a request onto the end of Barbara's, why not do the same and keep them all together, might be easier.

Hmm, just had a reply on Rootschat, as follows

Hello Simone,

This baptism is on the Cheshire Parish Database which is online.

http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/

The baptism date is shown as 27 June 1827 as you say. The additional notes they have state, "late Charles and Ann". I wouldn't like to say what that means.

There is nothing as to her birth date/year which suggests the Parish Registers do not have this information.

Jo

baptism does say 14 June 1827

so does that mean she is late, Charles is late or both charles and Ann are late :?

I would take it to mean the late Charles and Ann wife still living.

Ed Officer

I don't understand the Cheshire Projects database find it really complicated and not user friendly but did discover some Samuel and Robert Haswell entries. Could someone who understands it have a look at them?

Were you looking at baptisms or what? Just look at the number and put a 1 in front of it. then you have the year, followed by the month then the date, so really all you need to concentrate on is the first three numbers imagining the 1 in front.

Margaret Haswell Marriage details...

Post by colette »

Hi Kids

made contact with someone who has William Sharp in their tree on Genes....Roberts Sharps first son....

well he gave me the info from Robert & Margaret's marriage..

Hi Colette ,yes I have a copy of their marriage
they were married on July 18th 1852 at St Mary`s Edge Hill LIverpool. Robert was "of full age " and was a FLAXDRAPER (at least that what it looks like) a Widower living in Smithdown Lane Liverpool father Jonathon a SHOEMAKER
Margaret was "of full age" aSpinster no profession and living in (what looks like Gloucester Place, but it is difficult to make out in Liverpool ) father Charles a Clerk
as for the witnesses I can`t make them out at all tho I will hazzard a guess at one of them, looks like AGNES BOYD, I think the other one is also a BOYD and could possibly be FRANCIS
Does any of this make sense
David
I have asked him for a copy ..now i know when Charles & Ann had John Charles occ was a Clerk... then on Harriet & Peggy's bap he was a Staymaker (Corsett Maker)..but if Margaret was little when he died she woudlnt realy recall and may have asked her sister who has said a Clerk...

I cant find a Charles who was a Clerk PLEASE DONT FIND ONE LOL..HAAAAAAA,

If she is the correct Margaret then my theory of her being baptised aged abt 6 would be right..

Gonna go look for these Boyd's now..

Haswell

Post by colette »

Hi Simone thought i was on my own there for a minute haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Sam born abt 1842 be abt 9 in 1851..really speaking you would think he'd be with Aunty Harriet Higginson everyone else seems to be haaaaaaaaaa..so maybe there is some truth he ran off..he had a mother who looks like she worked hard.. 1841 shes a servant and 1851 god love her.. so not a lazy woman at all..
Wonder what made him go...and wonder did Robert Sharp teach him the Rope making as by 1860 hes a Rope maker or is it just coinsidence or did he actualy learn in Boston USA...

Still waiting for a copy of the marriage for these witnes names..as i cant see an Agnes Boyd or Francis Boyd.. can you..

No I can't see the Boyd's either Col :(

Eileen has gone to records office today to get the lookups listed on Barbara's thread. I did tell her not to bother with our Sharp marriage as you already had it, but maybe I didn't catch her in time, so if she does look it up she can confirm it is Boyd for us.

I did reply to Barbara's thread but note that you are still unsure of witnesses to the Robert Sharp and Margaret Haswell marriage. The register states Thomas and Agnes Boyd and they both signed. By the way Robert Sharp was a Widower and what looks to be a Flaxdreper? or maybe Flaxdraper. Margarets address was Gloucester Place.

Haswell

Post by colette »

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..

Looks like Thomas was Roberts work mate doesnt it... Maybe Margaret fell out with the famiily, why didnt she have one of her lot as a witness could have been a great clue there..

Anyway i recon shes the only Margaret Haswell born Chester around that time so its gotta be her..its just that 100% proof isnt it.. that we need..

At least we know Samuel was connected to the Haswell's we found....what if he changed his forename when in America.. its a thought..
