It is stated on both of Roberts marriage certs that fathers profession is soldier British Army, 1916 and 1931.
I think it was Bryant and May.
My mum used to work at a laundry where they cleaned sailors uniforms which is how she met dad, she slipped a note in these long trousers she had cleaned asking if she could meet the man they fitted and the rest is history as they say. She also used to tell me of the night the match factory blew up during the war.
Chelsea Road is off Linacre Road so it would be this factory I am sure.
Robert is buried with Emma and my 2 sisters in BOOTLE BOROUGH CEMETERY, CHURCH OF ENGLAND GROUNDS, number 606 section 4.
whether there is a head stone or not I don't know,

Brilliant Jan,
I can't believe all this input I now have to go to Leicester dig up a bit of Bradgate Park where I put mums ashes to rest, then go up to Bootle and put her with her mum, dad and girls.
I have also just checked Roberts 2nd wife Amy's grave deed they are the Ainsworths they are also at this cemetery.
Her fathers name was really strange EDMOND EGERTON AINSWORTH, at least these were easier to trace through the family tree. Although It bothers me that after contacting, via the tree, someone who is directly related to Earnest Skidmore and I have the grave deed to share as he is buried in Amys plot, doesn't want to share info. I find it all a bit sad really and selfish, a polite note to say don't contact me would sufice don't you agree. History in whatever form is there to be shared !

I hope I don't sound a wet blanket here, but I would suggest that you contact the Cemetery before you go digging holes in graves, just to make sure you don't run the risk of breaking any rules and being made to dig it up again !!
