1851/61 census look-up request
I think in 1911 Edward is 65 still living in the Hammersmith area of Fulham. RD3 SD2 ED23 No other family members appear to be with him.

Well I'm very disappointed not to have been able to find more, they should be around but ......
I haven't seen a death for Jane that I would definitely thought would fit for age, but then she's not consistent, so it's not straightforward. Nor marriages in Lancashire for the girls, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were somewhere all together, having separated from Edward.
Can anybody else find anything?

Freeman Family Hillingdon Uxbridge
Hello Daggers
I am decended from James Freeman b.1806 who was William Freeman's elder brother who moved from Uxbridge to Reading, Berks. via Rickmansworth. I have most of that line.
This is as far back as I have managed to using the internet.
1805-1813 – Hillingdon, Uxbridge, Middlesex
Head George Thomas Freeman Blacksmith/Farrier b.17??
Wife Mary Freeman (maiden name Landars) b.17??
Son James Freeman Butcher b.1805 Uxbridge Middlesex. d. Reading 1858 (Oct-Dec)
Son George Freeman Sausage Maker b.1809 Uxbridge Middlesex
Son William Freeman Butcher b.1811 Uxbridge Middlesex
Daughter Lucy Freeman b.1813 Uxbridge Middlesex (baptisted 20th August 1813, St Margaret, Windsor St. Hillingdon, Uxbridge,
Father’s name is George Thomas Freeman -Farrier- and mother’s name is Mary Freeman)
All 3 sons named their offspring after their father that is why the 1861 Census - 'No Little Wonder' is a bit confusing.
I am interested in tracing the decenancy of James's sibblings. I have already got the some links with Liverpool. If you have any more information on the Freemans I would be very greatful or any other ancestors that go back further than George Thomas Freeman in Uxbridge in the 1700's.
Many thanks and Regards
Gary

Welcome to the forum.
Amazing to find a connection with my wife's family. I shall have to spend a bit of time going through Mary's results from two years ago, but from what you say there must be a link.
It will be very interesting to compare details, but it is too late now. I'll have a go tomorrow - she will be amazed when I tell her! Have a look here , but not too early.

Edward Freeman
Hi, this is my very first post on this site, so please do put me right if I've posted in the wrong place.
I'm trying to trace an Edward Freeman who lived in Middlesex.
I'm afraid I don't have much to go on....only that he lived in Rotherfield Road, Middlesex.
I believe he was an Airman in the second world war & that his wife was ill for some time in hospital.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Daggers will be online soon and perhaps he will be able to tell you if your Edward Freeman is connected with his wife's family.
Best of luck

These things aren't easy are they, and although we don't habitually search outside Lancashire, our crew often like a challenge, so if they have access to any records they would try if they can.
Middlesex is a County so Rotherfield Road could be anywhere, we would really need to pin down a town if possible and a date when he might have been there. Do you have any idea of his wife's name or better yet a child's name and birthdate, although be careful of posting about any living people.
If you are able to identify where and when he was in Rotherfield Road, I would suggest that a start could perhaps be made on telephone directories.
I imagine the Rotherfield Road might have been in Enfield, unfortunately no entries found in the online directories. You may need to check the Electoral Registers which will be available at the local Record Office.
Perhaps it might be an idea to see if you can find any descendants, we have some general suggestions gathered together here http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=8154

Hi MaryA
Yes, you're right, just rechecked the information my mother wrote down, it is in Enfield.
I think he was living around the Edgware/Enfield/Hendon area around the 1940's. He must have been at a nearby Airforce base as he was a pilot. I remember that my grandmother spoke of him & she was a nurse in the RAF. There is a possibility that he went to the RAF base called Lossiemouth in Scotland.

Hi Batiurf and MaryA
Rotherfield Road is still in existense in an area called Enfield Wash and off a road called Ordnance Road. This area is just to the south west of M25 Junction 25 on the North East edge of Enfield.
My wife comes from Waltham Abbey and I will ask if she knows of an airfield close by.
I could not find any Freeman recorded in Rotherfield Road on the 19** census.
Will post again if I can find anything out about an airfield.

Hi all
I have to admit I'm quite taken back by the very warm welcome I've received on this site, thank you all so much & I'm glad you like my Avitar.
I'm going to see if I can find some details on Ancestry.co.uk although I did this a while ago & came up with nothing, but I believe new data is added all the time, so you never know
