Hi - just seen your questions re when Gascoyne street was built- my ancestor (Thomas Taylor Shipwright) was living here when baptising his children from 1805 until 1811. (Mary Anne, Willian Meadows, Thomas, James and Peter - all Taylor, mother Anne Bews) I have found a map of 1785 where it does not exist so my guess is somewhere between the two dates.
Hope this helps. I am struggling to get beyond this date in Liverpool for my ancestors as Taylor is a common name. Would love to talk to anyone with Taylor ancestors in Liverpool prior to 1800 who has made progress and might be able to help. Jill
Back in February I said, "Gore's Directory 1803 includes the street in its list of street names no mention in Gore's 1800", so at the moment I think c1800-1802 is the most likely date for when the street was originally built.

That had slipped my memory , Blue,. I find those maps absolutely facinating and look at them regularly and thank you every time I do. I must look at the directories to see when my family (Harrison or Howard) were at the shop (number 32 or 34 ) . The days are drawing in so I will have more time
Thanks again Lynne
