Still searching for info on this couple. I have found on FMP a will for a George Cowley probate 4 March 1817 Archdeconry of Chester, but he was from Liverpool,
Archive reference 1482/11 infra wills 1800 to 1824. I know Blue will know if I can view this . Thankyou.

I have searched on the family search link you gave, but it is not there. Are they infra wills?
I have also looked on the xmission site for Lancashire wills. No George there at all.

Blue, another absolutely brilliant find. I'm sure I looked through that film , but did not find it.
It would appear to be him. Widow Mary , correct. Labourer correct so looking the best we have had so far. Now just to find a burial.

Oh and a birth !!. Right there is a death in 1815 liverpool 2/11/15 but that is a bit tight for his last child Elizabeth to be born in August 1816. No mention of George deceased on her baptism at St Peter's in September.. Elizabeth is my direct descendent.
Thanks again Blue you are a STAR :D

You are so kind. Thanks. There is a burial at St John 24 Feb for George cowley, . He was a night watchman.. address Earle st. But age 64 sob 1753. I have George born c 1775. I think this is only because of the age of man in 41 census, who wasn't him. What do you think. Their last child was born 1816, when they were in East St.

That seems a bit old but it is possible. Your George Cowley doesn't seem to be in the directories. The town was much smaller back then but the directories still left out a lot of people. The one in Sparling Street that appears in directories was a tailor.

Just been revisiting this post. You are very clever on this forum. Thanks.
To go on,.... what do you think of Mary mason being baptised 1778 with father John a soldier. They did not have a child John

Problem is Lynne,

Around that time period it's unlikely to find the pair mentioned on another record, marriage or census, etc.

Also looked and couldn't find another Mason child baptised with father John Mason, Soldier, Liverpool Regiment, -/+10 years, which I thought might help.

I don't know if John was her father. It is the only one I can find that fits. I think I'll give up on this one , unless something else turns up. I was only thanking you . So thanks again

Just put it on the back burner, one day something might pop up in another search and remind you of it, there's new stuff coming online all the time so one day you never know.
