RC burial
Re: RC burial
The man who died was a lot older than Margaret and left over 4 and a half thousand pounds in his will. I wish his will had been proven in West Kirby where he died and then I could have got a copy from Cheshire wills on FMP.
I know wills cost £10 as I've bought a few in the past, I'll put this on my bucket list if I can link him to my family.

Re: RC burial
As it was proved in Liverpool you could get a copy from Lancashire RO in Preston.

Re: RC burial
Maybe he was lining up wife number 4 in West Kirby when he had a heart attack with the stress of it all lol.
I hope Daniel O'Donnell kept in tune.

Re: RC burial
The policeman John Young was a member of my husbands family. He was the brother of my husbands maternal grandmother. Just a little bit on info.

Re: RC burial
Wow Shirley. What a sad and sorry tale it was from start to finish. There are at least 20 newspaper reports on this if you haven't seen them.shirley wrote:The policeman John Young was a member of my husbands family. He was the brother of my husbands maternal grandmother. Just a little bit on info.

Re: RC burial
Thanks barbaraW, yes I have followed it up right through to his very grand funeral and have been over to Flaybrick cemetery to see his grave. Even though he was in Liverpool police, he lived in Birkenhead.

Re: RC burial
They have originals prior to 1858 but after that they have copies in a book, don't be fobbed off by an unknowing librarian saying they only have the early ones, you don't mind a copy.BarbaraW wrote: I'm not getting any hits Mary and I've tried all kinds of searches.
Easier to visit if you are able.

I'd love to know if James left all his money to Margaret or one of the 4 children I found from his second marriage.........
I just can't get anywhere else with this Michael Quinn but am leaving him in his little unattached tree because one day, you never know, he may be ready to be hooked up with some family of mine.

Quite a procession and included the difficulties of transport across the river too.

Re: RC burial
It's taken me a while to learn Shirley because I was using the free Photobucket and it was soooooo sloooooow it drove me nuts, plus all these ads and video's popping up all over the show. So on Sunday night I paid the annual fee, it was about £7 and well worth it!!!

Re: RC burial
Hi Barbara. I got a will from Lancs Record Office. I phoned them and they were so helpful. I don't think it cost anywhere like £10 and they photocopied 3 pages , including my Great, Great Grandmothers signature
Made me cry. It was so shaky and wobbly and I was surprised she could write in 1853, as she was an innkeeper and wheelwright's widow.

Re: RC burial
Thanks for that Lynne I'll follow it up.
I was reading some wills online yesterday over at the Cheshire wills on FMP and it's surprising how emotional you can feel as they're so much more personal than marriage and birth certificates.
One of them left all his clothes to his father

Re: RC burial
There is sometimes an inventory with the older Wills, so interesting, and yes I've heard of people leaving their "second best" suit to a male relative and also their "best bed" to their wife.BarbaraW wrote: One of them left all his clothes to his fatherhis clothes!!!
