Well done Karen, you got some difficult words there that stumped me.

Bob put up Page 3 and I'll match it with the image of the top of the page.

Mary,
Thanks for doing the technical bit and posting the image of the will pages - I've tried and failed miserably even though I attempted the process using your initial instructions, my fault entirely.
Karen, you're a marvel. I see them now but I've tried for ages to decipher the words you've made out.

I'm visiting family for the weekend so won't be back on line until Monday. Thanks so much again.

I've saved the images and split them in half, so next week post the text that you have and I'll put the appropriate image up with it.

Hi everybody,

Thanks so much for your help on this. Please don't spend any more time on it. I think I've managed to transcribe all but a few words and I've got the gist of it but I wouldn't have got there without you all - thanks!

If I could ask one last favour please. For those of you able to see the image is it possible you could look on page 2, line 22, the line "unto Thomas Swann of the City of York esquire and ??????Bland" etc etc

I just can't make the name out. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Bob,
My first reaction was SCOURIS. It is a definite surname and could be a forename. There are at least 45 examples of the surname on Ancestry. Sounds Greek in origin?

Yes thanks Mary, I've a few gaps but overall I've got it. I'm just very grateful for the help I received. I knew it was a big ask but didn't appreciate just how big! I'm happy with what I have now apart from the name which I just can't make out. I've spent some time trying Dickiesam's suggestion but hit a brick wall.

I'll keep trying :-))

HI Bob,
Here's another to think about.. A poorly written/spelt Severus.

SEVERUS [male] - Ancient Roman - Roman family name meaning "stern" in Latin. This name was borne by several early saints.
