Topping family living at 26 Alfred Street, Liverpool

I am hoping to access Liverpool city directories-especially from 1899-1905. Where are they located and are they available online?

I believe a Topping family lived at 26 Alfred Street during that time and I want to make sure of that.

and would that be the Alfred Street in Wavertree or the Bootle area of Liverpool?

Hello Ruth,
In the 1901 census 26 Alfred Street, Wavertree, is unoccupied. At 26 Alfred Street, in the sub-district of Mount Pleasant, there is the Hughes family.

A blanket search for a Topping family in 1901 didn't give one in either Alfred Street. Perhaps if you posted some family names, with an age or YoB if possible, we could find them for you in the census.

running from 97a Gt George St to
St James Rd (Duke St & Upper Parlie)
With Rathbone St cutting through it.

Do you think it could be Florence that Ruth is interested in? bit of a gap there and with a couple of older daughters in the family - it wouldn't be the first time a child was brought up by grandparents as their own. I'm not seeing any baptism at all for her.

Strange thing... Florence's birth was registered in Prescot, which didn't cover Edge Hill.

And Ernest [bn abt 1890] doesn't appear to registered anywhere near Edge Hill or Liverpool for that matter. Odd?

Have to wait for Ruth to come back and 'collect' our results.
