Hi,
any one know where 81 Clickburn street is? I have found a burial record (Toxteth Park Cemetery) that states this address.
Thanks Linda

Hi,
No Clickburn Street. The nearest I have found is Cockburn Street in Toxteth.

Re #81..
In 1881 Thomas and Wilhelmina Thomason are there, with boarders;
In 1891 the Redhead family are there;
In 1901 the Willas family are there;

This link will show you where Cockburn Street is/was, bottom right.

Thanks very much for that, I think that probably will be right, they have obviously made a mistake.The death I have is for Thomas Roberts who died there in 1889. I have no record of the family living in this street so still not sure if it is the right death or not. Probably just have to send for the cert.
Thanks again Linda

Hi,
There are 4 Toxteth Park registered deaths for a Thomas Roberts. Which one do you think is yours and how old was he according to the burial record and what qtr was he buried in?

Deaths Jun 1889: Roberts, Thomas - 67 - Toxteth Park - 8b - 185
Deaths Sep 1889: Roberts, Thomas - 26 - Toxteth Park - 8b - 199
Deaths Dec 1889:
Roberts, Thomas - 59 - Toxteth Park - 8b - 212
Roberts, Thomas Owen - 2 - Toxteth Park - 8b - 183.

The age at death and the qtr should tell you which man is yours.

Hi,
This is the nearest one I can find, going by his marriage record he should be aged 23 in 1889, but nothing comes up for that age, and people do forget and make mistakes when stressed, so I am assuming it will be the one below. He lived in Southampton Street in March 1888.
Deaths Sep 1889: Roberts, Thomas - 26 - Toxteth Park - 8b - 199 he was buried the 30th Sept 1889
Thanks Linda

Hi Linda,
I would also go for the one you have picked. Not only did very few people know exactly what year they were born, but the informant of a death would usually have to make a 'best guess' as to age. This 'error' is compounded by ages given in census returns and on marriage certs, also often a best guess.
