That's lovely of Ed
I'm emailing him when I've finished this.
I had another phone call from Dalma nee Dagg living in Melbourne.
She has 2 postcards dated 1912/1913 to Sarah J known as "jack".
Chas went to far north Qld with his brother, there is supposed to be a Dagg Falls there.
One of our Bootle genies lives in F.N.Q I'll ask her to find out more.
It was a tramp and his dog who lived in the shed next door, they died in a fire which triggered Lily's breakdown.
S.J was not allowed beyond the front door in slippers and apron.
She had to be smart just to collect the milk & the mail by order of Charles....how times have changed

Update:
In email touch with Ed in Ireland.
Found Dagg Falls in Qld near Killarney!!
Perhaps Chas bro founded this branch of the family as lots of them in the area of southern Qld.
Spoke today to Chas & Sarah's lovely g/dghtr, for a young lass she is so interested in this famiy tree. If she has a daughter, she's naming her Lily.
She asked me to pass on her thanks to the forum people and Ed, it means so much to her, isn't that lovely??
Also spoke to Roslyn, now have her email addie which I'll forward to Ed.
I reckon the phones have been running hot between these Dagg girls.
I'm spitting chips cos I'm not related...

Hi Tina,
Yet again... Thank you. Interesting that connection with Qld. Could it be that other Dagg siblings/rellies were there before Charles?
Maybe a modern-day Dagg in Ireland will pick up on this saga and do a connect. When I started out on this search for my friend Ed I had searched the Outgoing Passenger Lists from the date of Charles and Sarah's marriage in 1905. Then came the breakthrough from the marriage report cutting from the Irish Times about Charles being from Coolgardie WA. And the rest is, as they say, history.
Had I then gone back to the Passenger Lists I would have found these:
Name: Mr Chas DAGG
Date of departure: 6 January 1899
Port of departure: London; Passenger destination: Sydney, Australia
Date of Birth: 1880 (calculated from age)
Age: 19; Marital status: Single; **********: Male; Occupation: Labourer
Passenger recorded on Manifest Page 3 of 7.
Ship: ORUBA.
Master's name: Lindsay Hay
And then...
Name: Adam DAGG
Date of departure: 26 October 1900;
Port of departure: London; Passenger destination port: Sydney, Australia.
Date of Birth: 1861 (calculated from age)
Age: 39; Marital status: Married; **********: Male; Occupation: Labourer.
Passenger recorded on Manifest Page 7 of 15
Ship: OMRAH
Master's name: J F Ruthven
Tina, would you pass the above to our keen Dagg g.dtr genealogist please?

Hi Tina,
Just a note of my personal thanks for the particular interest you took in the Dagg family saga.
Just heard from Ed that the Taylor clan 'do' he and his brother Alec had organised for last weekend went off like a dream. Your package of goodies arrived on time and had a display all on their own relating the story of Charles Dagg and Sarah Taylor's emigration from a small village in Wicklow over a hundred years ago.
And of course my thanks to everyone else who helped put the story together.

He sounded worn out from the celebrations!
