Post by northmeols »

I have found James with wife Elizabeth (nee Lee) on the 1881 census living in Everton, they had 3 children at the time, emma, james and thomas. living with them was elizabeths brother michael. their last name is misspelled as Brownbile. could skp take a look at the 1871 census and see if they can find him with his parents, he was born in liverpool 1843-47 he married lizzy 1875 in liverpool. thanks in advance

thanks a bunch. no wonder I had trouble finding him in 71 Brambil!!! and I thought this line would be easier with a some what unusual surname. Melling is looking good for that side if the clan, they were scattered from Everton to Southport centrally located around Melling and Maghull.

if his father was 51 in 1871C and 48 in 1861C then I have 2 baptisms in Melling that fit 1812 and 1818 both with father James (again) one with mother listed as Elizabeth. Tina can you find the 1851 info so I can compare ages for the father.

thanks every one for the help... James Mason and Sarah Wyatt married 1808 Manchester first child I can find in Lydiate is Sarah 1811 going to check for earlier children in manchester.. he was a stone mason so could have been born manchester.. as for James Brownbill I'm leaning toward the 1818 baptism as we found Margaret's birth in 1818 and they are listed as the same age (32) in 51 then in 71 he's 51 only in 61 is the age different 48 they could have transcribed it wrong will have to go to the library to view original for 61 to see but I'm pretty confident on the rest
