Hi all
I am trying to find the whereabouts of Isaiah Warriner b in Liverpool 1852 son of Isaiah Warriner 1827-1866 and Hannah Mary Anders 1825-1878.
He last appears on the 1851 and 1861 census. His father died in 1866 and I wondered if maybe he had gone to live elsewhere but cannot trace him. His 7 siblings are all traceable and continued to live in Liverpool for several years.
I can't think where to look next? Any ideas?
Thanks
Sheila

Hi Sheila,
I couldn't find him in the 1851 either... Probably because he was born in 1852! Slip of the fingers?
Because of his absence from censuses after 1861 and no matching marriages or deaths I'd suggest he probably emigrated between 1866 [when he would have been 14] and March 1871. If he had enlisted in the military or navy he would probably have popped up on at least one census. Have you checked the Ellis Island database?

Hi folks
Ellis Island didn't open until 1892.
Before that, migrants went to Castle Garden.
Findmypast shipping lists don't start until 1890.
Register of passport applications start from 1851.
Here's the link Sheila to Castle Garden.
Not sure if Isiah is there but certainly a few Warriners
which maybe of interest.

He's listed as HAIAH in 1861
I'll send an error to Anc##

Thanks everyone.
I realised I had made the error with the 1851 date as soon as I clicked on submit. there appears to be an alarming gap between my thoughts and actions!
I will follow up suggested leads. I think there is a possible chance that he went to the USA with his cousins and as both his christian name and surname are misspelt frequently I may find him on a passenger list under another name.
Bye for now

Hi Sheila,
This site, for the Stringer - Calvert family tree, has Isaiah Warriner senior on it with his wife Hannah and children. Are you connected?

Yes I am. Isaiah and Hannah are the parents of the Isaiah I am trying to find. I am very familiar with the Redmire site but I appreciate your mentioning it to me.
Isaiah senior is my ggx2. Isaiah the younger is the brother of my great grandfather Joseph Scott Warriner.
Thanks for your post
