1871 Census

Post by moya »

Does anyone know how to search the 1871 census by area. Further to my request on the Gosling family, I cannot locate them on the 1871 census, but as the parents did not die until the mid 1870's they must be recorded somewhere in 1871, maybe the name has been mis-interpreted. Any suggestions gratefully received. Moya

1871 Census

Hello Moya,
We can search the census by county and by using the 'Where born', 'Residence' and 'Occupation' etc options can 'fine tune' a search to a degree. After that it's patience and hope you know other names in the family.

Is this what you wanted to know? Apologies if no. And you are looking for Gosling in 1871?

gosh complications, don't know whether to lock one of these posts as it will cause confusion if people respond on both.
