Hello All ~
I am researching Everton ancestor William Henry Fletcher Shaw (b. 1820) who was sentenced to transportation (Tasmania) for stealing "19 sovereigns from a dwelling house".
His trial took place on the 9th July 1838 (Liverpool).
Details of his journey to Australia and his subsequent time there are available from the Aus authorities ... but might there be a Liverpool newspaper article on W.H.F Shaw at the time of his trial/conviction? And perhaps court documentation re: his crime/trial?
If so, would these documents be held at Liverpool R.O ... or are they available online?
Bestest,
Paula.

I think it would be worth your while checking the Liverpool Records
