Where on earth is Thomas??

I am still on the trail of the elusive Stirrups :( . Before the certs went up I sent for a few, one was a Margery Stirrup (My James's mother) Death cert. It showed she died in Liverpol Workhouse on 13 Dec 1879 (name was entered as Margaret-age 65 though, but it looks like the correct one - widow of William Labourer) The surprising thing was the informant was a Thomas Stirrup her son of 9Ct Maguire St. I hadnt seen any sign of a Thomas on any census for the family. I sent for his birth cert & found it was her son born 16 May 1849 at 11 Ct Pownall Sq. William his father died of cholera on 8 Aug 1849.
Ive been through all the census again & still cant find him - the only one I can find is on the 1871 but he is down as being born in 1844 with a brother William so I dont think its him.

Ive found a marriage for a Thomas to a Ellen Molyneux in 1877 at St Albans - again I dont know if thats the right one.
Has anybody any ideas what might have happened to him or where he might be hiding??? :?: :?:

St Albans was a Catholic church, so was it likely to be a marriage that took place there? Also one to a Charlotte S Jasper in Q1 1882 at St Nicks. As we have the churches for both of these, it would be worth asking for a look up if anybody is going to the RO and see what results it brings.

It might not seem very reverent but at least they haven't pulled down St Albans church in Athol Street (closed 1991), but you should see the use they have put it too ! http://www.awesomewalls.co.uk/ :lol:

Thanks for looking for them Pegasus. I have got the family in all the Census's apart from 1861. The 1841 & 1871 is the right one but the 1851 is not. I have found them on that one but Thomas is not with them, thats why it was such a surprise to find another son.
The Alice on the 1841 died in Jun 1843 along with John b 1837( he's further down the page) who died 3 weeks later both from Scarlet Fever.
I have the marriage record for William & Margery
Its just a puzzle where Thomas has got to!!
In 1851 they lived at 2 Ct 15 House Oriel St

Mary- I will have a ride to the RO soon & have a look at the marriage records.
