i can find my gran-ma dolan in the 1911 census but not in the 1901 why, she live on gt homer sreet with husband patrick and this is the only time i can not find them. :?: kathleen

matilda was born in1875 to john and margaret james lived bevington street liverpool, in 1896 married patrick dolan who was born in1872 in limerick ireland father michael born 1844 ireland mother mary also born ireland 1842,in 1881 they live in devon st liverpool, in 1891 were liveing in gt homer street,so where in 1901 thanks kath

Hi Kathleen,
I assume this is Matilda's birth? It's registered in 1876.
Births Mar 1876: James, Matilda - Liverpool - 8b - 35.

Found her OK in 1881 at 58 Maguire Street and in 1891 at 60 Rendel Street.
RG11 - Piece 3605 - Folio 12 - Page 18.
RG12 - Piece 2949 - Folio 104 - Page 57.

Because both she and spouse Patrick appear to be absent from the 1901, there's a strong possibility they were in Ireland, Patrick's place of birth. If his parents were still living you might be able to find the families in the Irish 1901 Census when it is eventually available for searching on the web. Info here:
