Hi All, researching my Gt Grandfather Charles Wilberforce who was born in1818, I can't find any mention of him in the familysearch.org IGI. It lists his father Mark Wilberforce and other children, namely a Frances Jane, Mary, John, Peter, and Christopher, but not Charles. I know Mark is Charles father as his name is on Marks death certificate. Any ideas anyone?

The most likely explanation is that he was baptised at a church that is not on the IGI. The familysearch website does not contain every church register but just some.
The Mark and Betty were married at St Annes Liverpool, their children John (1812), Mary (1814) Peter (1816) and Christopher (1823) were baptised at Holy Trinity and Frances Jane at Childwall in 1820. I think you will have to search the surrounding churches fro Charles' baptism. It's even possible he was baptised at St Annes as there must have been a reason for the couple marrying there.
I did look on www.lan-opc.org.uk but no Charles Wilberforce. this is an ongpoing website and more transcription are loaded practically daily so it's always worth checking.
Films of Liverpool Church registers are held at Liverpool Record Office.

Hi Jan, you have hit the nail on the head, that is it, thanks very much for your hard work. I found one mispelling on the 1881 census transcription, (Wilberford instead of Wilberforce) that gave me a headache. I will get that info onto my tree.
Tina, I know about Mark Wilberforce (younger version) in Wavertree, and as far as I can make out he is no relation, although they did live close to wher my lot lived.
