Frederick Liston born August 22nd 1915

Post by iaindavenport »

I have a Registration of Birth Certificate for my Grandfather, Frederick Liston born August 22nd 1915 in West Derby, Liverpool. As this certificate has no reference numbers I am trying to find a BMD reference to order the complete certificate. Here is the problem:

I can only find 1 Frederick Liston born in 1915 in west Derby but this Liston is registered in the December quarter of that year.

Do you think this could be my grandfather or should I try searching under other spellings etc.

Any opinions or advice would be very welcome.

Thank you in advance....

Hi Ian

It is possible that although your grandfather was born on the Sep quarter, his birth could be registered in the December quarter... i.e he was bor 22 August but for his birth to registered within the 6 week time limit required for registration this would take the registration up to 3rd October, which would fall in the December quarter

hope that makes sense to you :D

Thanks Simone,
That makes perfect sense and I now feel happier about forking over my £7 pounds for the certificate. Cheers!
