'Major' kids gone missing

I have John Major born abt 1827 Liverpool [according to 41-1901 censuses] spouse Eleanor born in shropshire. I'm pretty sure he died 1902 Gainsborough Lincs. problem is I cannot find birth regs for any of the children. all born Toxteth Park

I had the same thought, so I checked on ancestry free marriages, there is a Phoebe Balsillie listed in 1902 Warrington/cheshire marrying either John Blower or Thomas Hamblet Hill. checked both lancs and cheshire regs and can't find anything to help with locating if this is her. daughter Phoebe May stayed in Liverpool area married Joseph Unsworth. daughter Issabella Eleanor married Stanley Edwards 1910 in Oswestry Shropshire, don't know what happened to Mary still researching her. have a feeling that dad stayed with daughter phoebe #1 if she did marry again.

forgot to add to the saga John Major married a girl from Salop Shropshire. isabella was probably staying with family when she got married. John and wife Eleanor had 6 children 4 of whom I have located their marriage just the 2 youngest boys to find spouses for. John Major's mother was from Canada. haven't found John and Eleanors marriage yet. took place around 1848 sarah Ann born 1849.

Hi All

I have Phoebe Balsillie as an ancestor and in googling her name I stumbled upon this thread. Phoebe was married to John Balsillie and they moved to Brazil, but Phoebe returned a widow, I'm still trying to work out the details. While they where over there she has Isabellor Elanor, my Great Grandmother.

I would appreciate any help in filling out the Major line

Well hello Rick..... during all this research I was able to make contact with Mary's daughter and she sent me a copy of Mary's christening record Brazil.. I cand send you a copy of it... I also found several of their children and when and were they married and died from this lovely lady..... she has a photo album of the family ( eleanor, mary and pheobe may with their parents) unfortunatley I live in the Usa and she lives in the south of England...she is elderly and does not know how to scan these documents and photos..... I am trying to locate some one willing to do this for her and put them onto a disk for me.

Here's what I have on the line thus far

PHOEBE MAY BALSILLIE b.1889 Toxteth Park marries Josiah Unsworth August 1912..they have one child John William Ronald Unsworth b. 1912 in West Derby, He died in 1996 in Epping Forest, Essex, England. phoebe and John moved around alot he could not keep a ob and they lived with friendas most of the time. They were killed when a bomb landed on their apt in Brentford London 1940. john known as Ronnie went to scotland to live. John married Beatrice Mary Elizabeth ROBINSON in 1939 in Fulham, London, Essex, England. Beatrice was born in 1914. She died in 1996 in Epping Forest, Essex, England.

Isabella Eleanor BALSILLIE was born on 14 Mar 1883 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She died in 1918 in Chester, Cheshire, England.
Isabella married John Stanley EDWARDS in 1910 in Oswestry, Denbighshire, Shropshire, England. John was born in 1879.
They had the following children:
Joyce I EDWARDS born 1912 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England.
Florence C EDWARDS born 1917 in Chester, Cheshire, England.

Isabella also had Phyllis May Barsillie Edwards Dec 2 1910 in St Martins, Salop. She married Henry Iniff George in 1936 at Edge Lane, Liverpool. they had one son, Brian Stanley Iniff George, my Father.
