record of marriage lookup please 1845

Post by Liverbird »

Hi if anyone at anytime in the future is going to the record office would you be kind enough to look for a marriage for me in the March quarter of 1845 between Lewis Parry and either Mary Morris or Mary Coultart

All that I know of the couple is from census records and this possible marriage kindly helped by Simone

Lewis Parry was born in Anglesey in 1811 and I am hoping his father is Owen Parry a collier
Mary was born in the same year and was from Aberystwith
All help much appreciated, Happy Christmas to all L.B :D

Hi

For a marriage lookup - you need to know which church the marriage took place in and unfortunately, this marriage has not been transcribed on Lancashire BMD/IGI/Ancestry

Please see this post from MaryA

Hi Carole, I have checked the information given to me on free b.m.d for 1837-1915 and this gent shows along with the two ladies named in my post. As the daughter of Lewis Parry and his wife Mary was baptised in Oct 1846 at St Peters, Liverpool, the entry is shown on Lancs opc I am presuming perhaps wrongly this might be were their marriage took place. I was hoping to get the grooms fathers name and profession from the marriage record.

Thanks for your input. cheers L.B :D

Carole is correct, to request a marriage look up you need the church that the ceremony took place in, otherwise anybody willing to assist you could waste a lot of time searching records that have no relevance.

From previous experience we have found marriages taking place in Winwick when the couple have lived in West Derby, and many marriages took place in St Nicks when the baptisms of their children were in St Peters, so it can't be taken for granted.
