Chadderton Family

Post by brendaponting »

Hello Everyone ,
Well, it has been almost year since I last posted here, and I still havent been able to find any more information about my grandfather James Chadderton born 1891, Farnworth, Bolton , however, thanks to a friend who checked the 1911 UK Census for me , and I have discovered that my grandpa had 2 other siblings born after the 1901 census was taken, and I am trying to locate any information about them,

I have the following info.

Earnest Chadderton , born 1902
Harry Chadderton , born 1907

Earnest married Mary J Greenhalgh in 1922 at St Philip Church , Bolton
They had 2 known children
Joyce born 1923
John born 1930

From info found on Free BMD , I believe that Joyce married
Gordon T Briggs in 1945 at St Barts.

Harry married Florence E baybutt in 1935 at St Bedes

William Chadderton married mabel Kitchen 1923

I also have Marjorie Sudworth marrying Henry F Jones in 1944

If anyone has any info, no matter how trivial about any of the above people, please contact me.

Kindest Regards, and Happy Holidays,
Brenda In freezing Montreal !

I'm sorry we obviously haven't been of very much help to you with your family, I wonder if it's because Bolton is a little further north than many of us have family interests and indeed any resources to hand.

The Bolton and District Family History Society, is a branch of the Manchester & Lancashire FHS and I wonder if they might have more resources for the area in question. They have a website http://www.mlfhs.org.uk/

At the dates that you have found the marriages, you may well be able to find out if there were any children as the mother's maiden name will be give on the indexes to help.

I would find out the name of the lcoal paper and send a letter to it asking for any members of the family to get in touch. The paper may well host a Bolton Forum where you could post a similar request. I'd google Bolton forum and also Bolton local paper.
