Hello, I'm new on here so please bear with me!
I'm looking for a death announcement in any of the Liverpool newspapers please. The details are;
Rachel McLoughlin, born 1891 in Liverpool.
Died in Ireland, 4th August 1900, aged 9.
Buried in Fuerty, Ireland.
Daughter of William and Susannah McLoughlin of 'The Lambeth Hotel', 109 Smith Street Kirkdale.
I'm not even sure if the death would have been announced, but the family seem pretty quick to announce other BMDs (in the Liverpool Echo) so it's a possibility.
We have no idea why she was in Ireland in 1900, and why she was buried there. I am hoping that a newspaper announcement may shed some light.
Many thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.
Newspaper Lookup Please
Hi and welcome to the forum.
The newspapers online stop at 1900 so it was lucky your date was just in there, although unlucky that there was no entry for her.
Have you checked who else is in the grave? I would have thought that it might be a family grave, perhaps of grandparents.

Thanks MaryA. Unfortunately I have no idea whereabouts she is buried. That info came from her parents headstone in the Ford Cemetery 'intered in Ireland'. Her death cert has her as dying in Fuerty so it's only a guess that she was buried there.
Can I ask where you looked online for the newspapers please? I've not been able to find any.

Hi Lupitt,
The 19th century British newspapers on available through lancashire libraries, you have to apply for a library card to be able to gain access to the galegroup site.

I have a card that I applied for some time ago and they send you it in the post, the card has a barcode, and you have to type in the barcode number to be able to gain access.

I had a quick check today at the Record Office on the Liverpool Echo for August 1900 and unfortunately nothing there either.

I found this website, but it doesn't look like the have the deaths for Fuerty for 1900 online, Perhaps if you contact the centre they may be able to help in locating where Rachel is buried.

Hi Jan
Just a thought, if they lived in Kirkdale, would there be anything in the Bootle newspaper?
