All Saints Church

I have the marriage cert for my greatgrandparents and I am confused as to which church it took place at.On the cert it says All Saints in the parish of All Saints Liverpool.When I search I come up with a couple of All Saints ,in Stoneycroft and Childwall but they were both living in Cazneau Street on the cert.

The marriage took place in 1899 and also says married in the said church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns and the signature is that of a Curate,would this be a Church of England Church or a Catholic Church,the family was supposed to be Catholic at the time.Was the term Established Church used for both C of E and Catholic churches as you can gatherI don't know very much about such matters and would welcome your help.

The Established Church was and is the Church of England.

All Saints Church was Great Nelson Street right by Cazneau St.

If you go on the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk web site you will find a list of all churches in the Liverpool area..there are also Baptism Marriage & Burials records for some of the parishes but not all..one to keep in youre favs...

The registers for All Saints, Great Nelson Street are at the Liverpool Record Office, reference 283 ALS. Probably on microfilm.

Thank you all for your replies and apologies for taking so long to reply.

I thought it must be C of E but a family tale was that my great grandmother had taken my grandma out of a Catholic school after problems with the Nuns but I would have thought in those days to go to a Catholic school both parents would have be practising the Catholic faith and married in a Catholic Church, after the incident the family is supposed to have changed to C of E.It looks like another family tale which may not have been true.

I've looked at the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk site and put it on my favourites ,looks very interesting and thank you for the ref for the records office,I have never been there yet but my husband has a few days off next week and I'm going to see if we can get over there.
