archives for carters

Post by Scouserbetty »

Hi, my great grandad Thomas Gaynor 1864-1898, worked as a Carter in Liverpool from the age of 16 until his death. I would love to know more about his life. Would anyone know if there is archives for Carters? Thanks a lot, Betty.

Thanks for the question Betty and the answer Simone I have discovered a number of carters on both sides of my dad's family - the website is lovely and I look forward to visiting the plaques when I get back to the pool again.
cheers

Wow - have sent the link to my aunt in Port Macquarie and my Uncle in New Zealand - they grew up in Roscommon Street (Off Great Homer St) and would have fond memories of the area. I believe my Gr grandma Lawler had a shop near hopwood St according to the family. Thanks Simone.
