I have my 2 x Grt Grandfather,George Fearnes and his brother William both Christened at St Nicholas Church,1806,and 1809.The family were living in Crosbie Street,at the time according to Church and directorie records.
In 1819,William is buried in Llanbeblig,Caernarvan, and George spends the rest of his life there.
There is no trace of their Mother,Elizabeth, and George Snr the father seems to have married again to a Nancy ?,so supposing the first wife died and the two boys were sent to family in Llanbeblig when he married again, which happened frequently,if the new wife couldn,t /wouldn,t cope.I wonder could Elizabeth have died in the disaster of 11th February 1810 when the spire of the church collapsed bringing down the tower, roof and galleries of the church. 25 people were killed and 24 badly injured.
Where would the records be kept of people killed and who were buried afterwards.
I have looked at the Lancashire Parish Clerks site and there are no records that year for burials in St Nicholas. Also I have tried to make sense of the film in the Records office but parts of it am unable to decipher.
Hope you can follow all that.
Cheers Tsumi

I had a google and the dead were all buried in a mass grave at St Nicholas
Liverpool - A people's history by Peter Aughton page 100 records
On 11 February 1810 a procession of children from the Moorfields Charity School was entering the aisle for morning service. The time ws 10.23 --------- without warning the whole tower fell into the central aisle. the girls at the head of the procession had just entered the church and 23 were killed outright; another died in hopsital and 3 adults inside the church were killed.
I've abbreviated the passage
I imagine the names are listed in the Burial Register sadly as you can see 24 were children and 3 adults.
Have you tried Gibsons Memorial Inscriptions - it's a collection of inscriptions made before many of the early graveyards disappeared? The society sells the CD.

Although I'll have to duck when Joe next sees me, I've had a gander at my Gibsons and there seems to be only one Elizabeth Fearon who died age 40 on 9/1/1830 and was buried St Patrick RC Church, Park Place, Vol ix Page 471.
I.H.S. Here lieth the body of Elizabeth, wife of Mich'l FEARON and daughter of Joseph Cooper of Uthank, Cumberland who departed this life the 9th of January, 1830 aged 40 years. Also in memory of Neal FEARON who died at Whampon in China on the 16th November, 1835 aged 43 years. Also Lawrence FEARON, brother of the above, who died on the 29th November, 1836 aged 52. Also Margaret FEARON who departed this life May the 8th 1846 aged 9 years and 7 months.

Many thanks to you both for your imput, and Mary thanks for the ref .I have never heard of the Gibsons and will have to buy one maybe at the end of the month.
I think another visit to the Burial Registers are needed and just hope I can decipher something from them .
I am sure I have ground a turret from my house to the record office with this part of the family.
Cheers Tsumi

You will find Gibson's Epitaphs on microfilm at the Record Office, however, one of our wonderful Society members typed these up, indexed them and they are now available on CD through the Society http://www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/a ... ol_20.html this gives the description of what this wonderful man did.

If you still have problems, send an email to Ian, the Society Treasurer, address on the List of Officers page of the Society and ask what he suggests.
