ALL SAINTS CHURCH 1869

Post by HOLLY »

Hi all, I have a marriage to Look up at All Saints Church 1869, the only one I can find is Childwall and my gut feeling is this would be the wrong Church. Would anyone know if there was a Church of this name nearer the centre of Liverpool before I prepare for a trek into the city - T.I.A. - HOLLY ....

All Saints, Great Nelson Street (between Scotland Rd & Cazneau St) was opened in 1848. In 1957 the parish was merged with others. The registers should be at Lpool RO.
According to the Victoria County History of Lancs, this church replaced one in Grosvenor St which had started out as a tennis court!

All Saints, Speke, was not in Liverpool until much later, nor was Childwall.
