The above is all I've found too, no original documents unfortunately, however Desprez is not a common name, are there any other names connected to the family (in UK) as there are a couple of other entries.

The above are related to the wife and in fact she had contact with them in her childhood prior to the family going to New Zealand. The lady's full name was Charline Marie Antoinette Desprez. The record RT found appears to be very close and yet her husband was definitely James Mcadams. The image below is from Scots People and you can see some obvious mistakes, makes me wonder about RT's find?

Even though I could have a good guess at Charline's father's name from the naming of the children, I'll wait, just in case.

Charline's father was in the French Resistance and was shot in the back by the Nazi's.My Mother in Laws memory.

My aim is to see if I can go find him.

Next Question,

I'm winging it a bit with the children until the wife can visit the Mitchell Library in Glasgow. I can't name them in the event they may still be living.

Searching Scots People, births, 1945-1965, Coatbridge, 2 perhaps 3 appear to be pretty obvious.

Not that I've found their marriages in New Zealand, 1 appears to be nailed on and a likely for the other in the Electoral rolls.

I have found the Naturalisation records for James & Charline, 1981 but not the children.

How does Naturalisation work? If a person marries a born and bred New Zealander, do they get naturalisation automatically or do they still have to apply?

Never had to bother with this before.

Unfortunately the familysearch entries for Naturalisations are available only at a Family History Centre on microfilm, and I believe the nearest nowadays to us is Chorley
