I was surprised to see this named on a 1950s map.

Do you have any more of that map? The rest of Prince Edwin Street would be very useful. I am looking for Albert Terrace.

thanks
The map is patchy with it being the 1950s it's not on it so it's probably been knocked down. I don't have a decent c1850 map of the area. That map names the courts. Looking at a free map with limited zoom it looks like Albert Terrace could be the second court from the left on the south side of Prince Edwin Street (later court number 4). One of the other court names seems to mention Victoria. You won't be able to see these properly but it'll give you an idea of where I think it was and if you can get a proper copy of the map it should clear it up.

There is a very good searchable map here http://centraldocks.co.uk/scotland_road_liverpool_1908 but I can't see Albert Terrace anywhere.

thanks for that map. Johnny. I found a Saccharine works in Paul street. I did not know such things existed. Also the Leeds Liverpool canal behind Gascoyne Street seems to suddenly stop. Was it filled in, or did it always stop there. I am sure it goes through to the Pier Head area now.
Thanks
