James Andrew Filson is listed as a crew member on the New York ship in 1917 and then in 1924 on the Almanzora coming from Bahia to Southampton. I think he was in Ireland sometime between 1919 and 1923 and I have a photo of him in what looks like an army uniform. He told his daughter that he had worked with horses during this time. Does anyone know of any sources for British military in Ireland during the civil war? Any help would be gratefully received to try to fill in the gaps in my grandfather's life story.

I don't know whether any of them will be useful but we have a collection of Irish links on our Websites board.
