A Happy New Year to you all.
I'm wondering if anyone is available to help look up a record for me please? I'm trying to confirm a link in my tree between one Rose (Rosa) Ann (Anna) Mahon(e)y (MMN Lynch) and John Hess(e)y at this Church in July 1896? Ancestry 'links' have provided this information but I can't find the certificate for it anywhere and don't wish to assume someone elses research is accurate...
Any help, as always, much appreciated.
Kind regards
M

Here's a link to the register page on Ancestry (it's the last one on the page) - Josiah rather than John Hessey by the look of it: https://goo.gl/oN1UgK

Dear 'retiringtype'
Thank you SO much for taking the time to find this. I have no idea how you managed this as whatever search I seemed to do I was convinced these records were not on there! I see the little 'footnote' too in the margin so will be translating latin now (or asking Google to!)
This has indeed been able to confirm an important link so thank you so very much.

Seems like a special dispensation to allow them to marry, perhaps one was Church of England. If that's the case you may find an adult baptism for one of them.
It's possible you were being too specific with your search. RC priests like to turn all first names into their idea of Latin, it's usually better to search for say, Jos* or Ros* so that asterisk becomes a wild card and your search will recognise everything after it.

Re: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Toxteth
Mary, thank you. I hadn't realised how to search with the *. I find Ancestry so hard and frustrating as I'm sure I'm missing out on lots! Taking a look at that translation...
"Apostolica Dispensatime obtenta super Imped mixt matron"
I guessed at something like "special dispensation given due to mixed parental marriage" But then I discovered they married in the July and first baby was born in Oct.....!!
Possibly this was a forced shotgun wedding?

Possibly, but I haven't heard of that before for a reason to be marked in the Register, however with RC priests anything is possible.
