Burial places

Hi, I'm new to the group and am wondering if anyone can help me find the burials of my great grandparents. William Tames who was living in Byron Street, Liverpool died in January 1927 at Brownlow Hill Wokhouse Infirmary and his wife Emma Tames who was living in Penton Street, Liverpool died in March 1910 at the West Derby Union Workhouse Infirmary. Any ideas of where to look for information.

Welcome to the forum. Can I just clarify that William was formerly living in Byron Street Bootle? I had a look at Bootle Cemetery but no sign of him there. Penton Street was in the Low Hill/Kensington area the council cemetery linked to this area was West Derby Cemetery. Another possibility is Anfield Cemetery the city cemetery which is not linked to any one part of Liverpool but serves the whole city. C of E burials for March 1910 included below no sign of Emma. Perhaps West Derby Cemetery is where they are buried?

I think in 1901 they are wrongly transcribed as James and have a 15yr old son Walter and 16yr old Evander. Both births registered as Tames

Walter died in 1955 and is buried in Ford cemetary so were the family Catholic?

Emma was buried at West Derby Cemetery (single interment not a family grave so no gravestone) on 25th March 1910:-

Mother Emma Hall married as widow Emma Duncan to William Edward Jackson Tames, Liverpool.

Hi, just like to thank you all so much for your time and efforts. All information was most interesting.
Yes, Blue, the Emma Tames you found in West Derby Cemetery is indeed my Great grandmother so I was delighted to have that mystery solved. Just my Great grandfather to find. He is down as living in Byron Street in Liverpool City Centre, I suppose around the site of John Moore's University now.

That'll be Byrom Street then if it's Liverpool not Bootle. Unfortunately records for the 1920s are not online for most likely places. Could be buried at Anfield Cemetery or West Derby Cemetery. Gravestone inscriptions for both below but no sign of him. It's possible he is in an unmarked public grave like Emma:-
