No - the surnames don't ring a bell. But if Nicholas was christened again at the same time - then surely he would be living there? X

The baptisms were "Conditional" I think it means they were not aware if a previous baptism had took place.

I am really confused now!! Why would they put the address - if they didn't live there?

They probably did live there at that time, question is, who with? it wasn't with the Godmother, Emma Hegarty, she was at 136 Wolfe St, 1901 & 1911.

Now that is a question of somebody who expects our ancestors to behave logically - which you will learn that they are far from

Can anyone help me with the 1938 census.. It won't allow me to put a pic on here but I have found John J Hodge birth year 1900 in Liverpool - but don't have access to it?

If you mean the 1939 Register I can.
119 Gloucester Place
John J Hodge 5 June 1900 M General Labourer
Catherine Hodge 14 June 1936 S Under school age
One record closed
Ellen Hodge 26 April 1908 M Unpaid domestic duties

If you need to show a picture in your message, instructions are here

although photobucket has been a bit temperamental recently.

Oops sorry about the John J, typo which I've now corrected.

Definitely they lived in 119, as also did another family of Elizabeth Jackson, 4 May 1889 M Unpaid domestic duties and John Jackson 28 February 1883 M Fireman, Incapacitated.

You could use the address search yourself and I believe you would get confirmation

I Have Thomas Hodge and Catherine Martin on my family tree, but have never gone further to get any children of their marriage. I can tell you that Thomas was a widower when he married Catherine on 1/5/1893 at Our Lady and St Nicholas in Liverpool. Thomas's 1st marriage was 29/4/1860 at St Michaels and All Angels, Penwerris, Cornwall when he married Charlotte Smith. They had seven children, Emma born 1862 in Falmouth, and Catherine Ann b 1866, Susan, 1870, John, 1871, William Henry, 1874, Mary Ann, 1876, and Charlotte Ann, 1880 - All born Liverpool.
