Can anyone locate the Davies girls listed below in the 1939 census for me please. I know that Beatrice Ann was in service as a cook in the Stafford area along with her sister Edith Alice who was also a cook for another family in the area for many years? I don't think either of them ever married but Maud Emily may have I think though not until later in life.
Beatrice Ann Davies b. Q1 1873 Liverpool, possibly died in Stafford on 26 Apr 1956.
Edith Alice Davies b. Q2 1880 Liverpool, possibly died in Stafford in Q4 1959. May have been a Hardy when she died if she did marry.
Maud Emily Davies b. Q4 1883 Liverpool, 1901 census has her in Stoke upon Trent as a servant I think but I couldn't find her in the 1911 census.

Re: Davies girls in the 1939 Census
Edith may have been "Hardy" but what was the first name of the spouse to confirm the entry?
This is possibly her under the circumstances
RG101/5429F/024/22

Edith Alice Hardy 26 Feb 1881 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married
William Hardy 20 Mar 1893 Male Boot & Shoe Operative Retired Clicker Married
Hubert J Wright 30 Oct 1916 Male Engineers Progress Clerk Single
No definite sight of the other two.

Re: Davies girls in the 1939 Census
Thanks for your help but now I can see that the Edith Alice Davies that William Hardy married was born on the 26 Feb 1881 it doesn't tally with the birth of my Edith Alice Davies who according to the census was definitely born in the first quarter of 1880. Unless she lied about her age, which they tended not to do in the 1939 census, it means that this is probably not right, but there again it is a massive coincidence as she was working in Stone in the 1901 census, so I'm not sure! I suppose the only way to resolve this is to send for the marriage certificate!
