Those words actually make me shiver  Please try and do some research yourself and take those Ancestry hints for what they are - links to a name that might just match. Look into them but don't take them as gospel.

Second that,

Elizabeth,
If you are satisfied Elsie Bruce's birth certificate is the correct one and is your grandmother, the marriage certificate of her parents, James Bruce, Elsie Bremner, 1898, Laurencekirk, will give you, if you're not aware, their parents names and their mothers maiden names.

Can be obtained from Scotland's People.

Me too Mary, they are tips or hints not and while some are quite good some are appalling!!! Remember my Thomas Henry Banks who it turned out was born illegitimate in the Workhouse and his parents married 2 years later, Isaac Banks and Sarah Alice Miller? There are trees on Ancestry showing the parents with the wrong marriage (from the hints no doubt), then others have copied it and all are barking up the wrong tree (pun intended :) ) as the wife is a completely different person. I probably would have been searching for years but I always *knew* that other marriage was wrong drawing from previous experience or a gut feeling. The guys on here all gave me great help and you're all a fantastic helpful bunch.

I very rarely look at other trees only if I'm almost sure we are both on the right track and can help each other, my tree is private but others can search for names.

Elizabeth stick with this forum if you want the real deal and good luck. :)
