Tracing Liverpool ancestors - Hargreaves

No I'm not aware of a Margaret Hargreaves born 1910.
My mums knowledge of her fathers family is very limited, we do know he had a sister called Harriet, and Annie born before him (1915) also Robert born 1915 was a twin but he died and I found a record of a Edward Hargreaves b1915, died 1915 mothers maiden name Thomas.

I hadn't seen the census record you refer to with Robert and Margaret being married for 4 yrs. I'll certainly look at it.
I have rechecked a few facts with mum and she is adamant that an aunty had told her, her dads father Robert had died when he was a child and was not around during him growing up. However her dads marriage certificate in 1939 to Harriet Ockleshaw has his fathers (Robert) profession as Dock labourer and not deceased.....

Marriage certificates do not always say if the father was deceased or not. I have bought a lot of marriage certs and less than 1/2 have deceased mentioned, when I know he was. If you see what I mean

Yes I know what you mean.
I've just found a copy of my grandads birth certificate for 1915, his mothers name is Margaret Hannah so ties in with the census for the Thomas family. More interesting is his father Robert Hargreaves is listed as occupation Private, 4th kings Liverpool regiment, so the soldier killed at war could be him too.

There was a article in the Liverpool Echo which was where I got the address from.

I also have a listing in the Baptism records. which gives the address as Earle Road. The baptism took place at St. Peter's, Church Street

The address on my grandads birth certificate is 68 Barnet ( Burnett) St !
I can't believe you have found this information for me, I am so overwhelmed right now and can't wait to share this with my mum.
It's quite sad to read, I've got goosebumps, thank you so much.

You can see the baptism at Liverpool Archives. The Register is not on MF, so you have to order the original Register.

Mrs. Hargreaves, of 68, Burnett Street, Earle Road, has been notified of the death of her husband, Private R. Hargreaves, aged 31, who was killed in the trenches, together with three others of the battalion, by the bursting of a trench mortar

There are no pictures in the Liverpool Papers.

It's possible he is recorded on 2 memorials. Holy Trinity and also Liverpool Institute School.

Also his name appears in the Liverpool Hall of Remembrance at Liverpool Town Hall.

If you have a look at the Grave Registration Document Robert Hargreaves. Charles Tomkins and Serjeant Major Rogers are all in the sam#e grave.
