Hello All

At last , I have the documents in my hand from the Liverpool Magistrates which state the Annie Kearns was married at the time of giving Mum up for adoption to Arthur Kearns of Newcastle Road , Stone . I'm thinking in Staffordshire ? Her Maiden name was Talbot . You were right about that Mary A . It also states that Arthur was deceased by the time the adoption was finalized in 1935 and Annie was thought to have remarried . So now I am searching both Annie Talbot's birth details ( she didn't live at her address of record in Toxteth Liverpool for very long after the adoption ) I'm also having a hard time tracking the death details of Arthur Kearns ? But will soldier on . Just thought I would give this update which in itself is progress and exciting .

The only Stone I know is Staffordshire, but perhaps others might have more suggestions.

I agree with Mary the only Stone I know off is in Staffordshire, in fact I was born just down the road from there.

There is a Newcastle Road in Stone, I checked! I wonder if Staffordshire Archives hold the electoral rolls for the 1920/30s for Stone or know where they are? They might be illuminating.
