Re: Battle of Jutland
Re:
The Irish GRO Index entry is:
Birth: John Byrne
Birth Date: 16 Jun 1871
Place of Registration: Wexford, Ireland
Father's Name: Patrick Byrne
Mother's Name: Mary Kenny
Volume: 9-2; Page: 813
The entry that contains the NOI is only on the transcription of the church baptism register.....
813, ENNISCORTHY NOI, WEX, IRE
Birth Date: 16 Jun 1871
Birthplace: Enniscorthy Noi, Wex, Ire
Some time ago I actually enquired of the Enniscorthy Town Council and it was suggested that it might be a church notation on the baptism page #813 that could mean 'Not of this parish' although I have seen that written in Latin as 'Non hac parochia'.
On other baptism transcriptions on FamilySearch it is written as No1! Which could indicate it was the first entry on a particular page. Thus 725, ENNISCORTHY NO 1, WEX, IRE could mean Page 725, Line 1....
I believe I have tried to answer that question before. I understand that the NOI was a reference used by the Church of Latter Day Saints in the original transcription of the church baptism records. I doubt it has any significance in the actual birth registration and will not appear on the birth certificate. What does NOI stand for after Enniscorthy.

Re: Battle of Jutland
MaryA will be along shortly to tell you how to amend or remove the footing. Quite easy to do.
In the meantime have you any clues at all as to Francis Smith's whereabouts at any time after 1911? For instance, was he a witness at any of his siblings marriages?
