Hello, Kawasaki, another welcome from the originator of this thread.
My interest in E.E. Wynne is linked with research I carried out some 15 years ago for a WW2 memorial for St Anne's Church in Aigburth, here in Liverpool. We started with a rough list made by the wartime vicar, and built on it with information supplied by parishioners. No formal memorial for WW2 victims from the parish had been created until then.
One of the names was given in by a regular member of the congregation, Reeta Wynne (now deceased) who lived in Victoria Road, told us that her brother died aboard the City of Brisbane, she thought as the result of an air raid. The name of E.E. Wynne was placed in the newly created Book of Remembrance and wall plaque within the church.
Since these memorials were created it has been far easier to check on official sources; I have re-visited some of the entries from time to time and have been able to add to an informal record which holds whatever backgound information I find.
If you would like to see photos of the memorial and the inscribed book please send me a personal message with your email address. I would be very happy to add your information to the 'background' entry for Mr Wynne.
