My mother was born in Anderson St, Liverpool in 1924 but remembers living in Thomaston St. in the Scotland Rd. area before they moved to Dovecot when she was 6 years old. She will be 90 next month and I am making a 'This is your life' DVD for her and would love a photo of the street. She remembers the house as a big Victorian house but I think her childhood memory is a little off based on photos of surrounding streets.
Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Wish your mum happy birthday from us and I hope she enjoys the project you are doing for her. I have been unlucky finding a picture of Thomaston Street, but could make a few suggestions of sites to search.

or one of the Facebook Groups might have some good archives for the area - In My Liverpool Home or The Four Squares or I Love Liverpool The City would be worth joining and asking.

Both those streets were off Great Homer Street. Here is a map of the area from the late 1920s:-

Hello Ann and welcome,
Good luck with the project. In addition to the sites posted by MaryA have a browse here http://www.20thcenturyimages.co.uk/ There could be an image of Thomaston St as well as streets close to Great Homer Street which your Mum would have known.
The first one MaryA posted... http://www.liverpoolpicturebook.com/p/l4-l5.html has a photo of #4 Thomaston Street from 1959 and loads of photos of Great Homey!
