Leigh for All Event

Post by Glenys »

As part of the Open Heritage weekend, the Leigh Group will be taking their stand to the Leigh for All event at Leigh Library tomorrow. The theme is Edwardian and WW1 with the adjacent Town Hall and Parish Church both having guided tours and a vintage car rally on the square. Entry is free.

That's Friday rather than the weekend Glenys? Just clarifying, thanks for letting us know. And are there any times?

I think this is Saturday 13th, 10.00 - 15.00 http://www.wlct.org/wigan/whats-on/

Sorry - I got my days mixed up and didn't look at the forum until after the event. However, the Fair had a good response and there was a great atmosphere on the Civic Square with lots of vintage cars, brass bands and lots of local interest in the WW1 research available at the Local History Section of Leigh Library.

I even managed a trip up to see the bells in the Parish Church - that's another tower ticked off the bucket list.
It doesn't beat going on the Liver Buildings trip though.

Glad it was a good success, wish I could have got there myself but there were so many places to get around in the Liverpool area I couldn't manage it.
