Can any one help solve a problem I am having.
I have found a death for a John Brennan age 67 in the Ford Cemetry death's on the Ancestry website. It is dated 12th February, 1899 Grave, B2438. There are two entries for this death one the name is stated as John Brennan and the other as John Brennon. The trouble is that I have gone through the Death Index's with every variation of the name Brennan. I have also repeated the process in the following websites F.B.M.D, Ancestry and Lancashire B.M.D
Is it possible that the death was not registered?
Advice would be appreciated.

John Brennan, Brannon ect.
Re: John Brennan, Brannon ect.
Hi, hope all is well with you.
All the online transcriptions should have been compiled from the original indexes so if they are accurate they should all have the same entries.
I notice that he died in the Workhouse, it may be that checking those records might be more profitable. We have no Help Desk next week because of the difficulty with traffic during the week of the giants, but remind me before the following Tuesday and if I can get into town with enough time I'll have a look for him.
Alternatively you could order the certificate from the GRO, stating that the reference isn't known, but giving the place of death and his age and if they can find him they will issue the certificate, alternatively refund your money.

Re: John Brennan, Brannon ect.
Hi Sophia,
I'd say it is unlikely the death wasn't registered. It is a slight chance it was missed/omitted when the Registrar's quarterly returns were being transcribed into the GRO Index.
Do you know for certain when John Brennan was born? It is quite possible his age at death was a guesstimate by whoever registered the death.

Re: John Brennan, Brannon ect.
Could the age be wrong on the death certificate or the burial records? Here's someone who died the same quarter but different age:-

Estimated birth year: abt 1846
Registration Year: 1899

Different grave Tina, I believe that is a different person.
The one buried in Grave B2438 died in the Workhouse.

Could be the right man...
Mill Road Hospital was built by the West Derby Union Board of Guardians as a workhouse for the sick poor. By 1891 it had been renamed Mill Road Infirmary.

Re: John Brennan, Brannon ect.
Just to clarify, there are two entries for different John Brennans buried in February 1899 in Ford Cemetery
9 February, 1899 John Brennan Mill Road Hospital 32 years B2434
12 February, 1899 John Brennan Liverpool Workhouse 67 years B2438
Sophia appears to be interested in the second one because of the age.
To rule out from Simone's list above John Courtney as there is also a burial for him at Ford.
