I'd take a punt on that, on saying that the first 2 children Mary Jane Wilson, William James Wilson, baptised same time, Liverpool Christ Church, 1869.

Couldn't find a suitable death for a Gilbert Jones prior to 1881 or a GJ in the 1881 census.

Does the mothers name and any addresses shed any helpful/hopeful light.

Hi Bert,
Address on Gilbert Wilson birth certificate if it is the right one says mother Ellen Jones, servant, living at 1 house, 13 court, Bolton street. In 1871, husband Gilbert and wife Mary son William and daughter Margaret are living at court house, Oldham place, sub district mount pleasant.
