Looking for parents of Samuel Johnson b. 1812 L'pool

My gt-gt grandfather Samuel Johnson was born in Liverpool in 1812. He married Matilda Gaskill on 23 Dec, 1834 at St. Bride's, Liverpool, witnessed by her sister Ellen, and Joseph Johnson, who was poss. Samuel's brother.
Samuel & family were living in Mulberry St.in 1841, Stanhope St.Toxteth Park in 1851 and 9 Derby Place, W. Derby in 1861. Samuel and Matilda both died in 1865, W. Derby.
Samuel was a watchmaker - I've found a Joseph Johnson also a watchmaker, born in 1806, but haven't been able to link them. I know a bit about Samuel's descendants, but I would love to know who his parents were.
Matilda was the daughter of Isaac Gaskill and Jane Parker, I would also be grateful for any info. on those 2 families. Thanks.

The original images for all the children of John Johnson, cabinet maker and Mary Nelson are on the Ancestry website. There appears to have been 12 births in all with two of the names re-used indicating that the first child in each case must have died in childhood in order for the name to be used again:-
